Was Ethiopia the entire continent of Africa? : Old Map of Africa

Old map of Africa, Im not really able to determine the date but looking at the picture in the bottom left corner you can see Europeans and Africans sitting together....perhaps its anywhere from the 13th to 15th century...I even see the name Leon Africanus whom many speculate the continent was named for....its interesting seeing that ETHIOPIA spans the entire middle continent broken into Lower and Upper, and Abyssinia (old name for modern Ethiopia) is only in the East...I think ETHIOPIA was once the name for the whole continent pretty much...looking to the East you see Egypt and Nubia, in the north you see the Sahara Desert, in the west you see Ethiopia and Guinea, then lower west you see Congo, then Cafreria is toward the south...interesting regional breakdowns
